Digital and Public Humanities at SMC

The Digital and Public Humanities (DPH) minor integrates technology fields with the humanities. With the support of a Humanities Connections grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), this 15-credit minor combines coursework from the humanities, art, computer science, business, communication studies, environmental science, and others. The DPH minor prepares students to thrive in a world increasingly shaped by technology. It integrates project-based, experiential learning within nine academic specialties, and show students how humanities research engages with and influences the world.

Erasmus Texts Virtual Exhibit

This online exhibit displays images of notable texts by Desiderius Erasmus held by Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Bethel College, Conrad Grebel University College, Eastern Mennonite University, and Goshen College. It accompanies the intercollegiate symposium "Old Books Made New: The Surprising Wisdom of Erasmus for Today," a virtual event held November 4-5, 2022 .

Quilts from College Mennonite Church

Full-size quilts, crib quilts and quilted wall-hangings by women and a few men who attend College Mennonite Church. The traditional and creative designs reflect the longstanding quilt culture of the congregation in hits historic and ever-renewed expression.

The Centennial Anniversary of Sigma Gamma Rho: A Historical Look at the Sorority and Butler University

In honor of the centennial anniversary of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority in 2022, the Department of Special Collections, Rare Books, and University Archives at Butler University created an exhibit exploring the founding and early years of the Sorority and the University. Sigma Gamma Rho is a Black Greek letter organization originally founded as a professional organization for teachers in 1922. The Sorority is the only Greek organization founded at the University and the only sorority in the National Pan-Hellenic Council, commonly referred to as The Divine Nine, to be founded at a predominantly white institution.
