Curatorial Studies Fall 2025
In the fall semester of 2025, students worked with Natasha Somerville, who grew up in Prospect, Kentucky. Natasha’s work blends realism with abstraction, creating visually rich pieces that play with texture, color, and narrative. Her practice is often rooted in portraiture, whether it involves people, places, or meaningful moments. Instead of telling a literal story, her work invites the viewers to notice the emotional atmosphere surrounding the figures she paints. The course culminated with a final installation of her work, entitled "Connections" that was displayed between December 2nd and December 9th in 2025.
Below you can find images of the students meeting with Natasha Somerville in her studio and students work on creating the exhibit. The final images show the public exhibit once it was ready to open.
