Part of Quilt Week at Little Eden Camp

Title
Quilt Week at Little Eden Camp
Description
As noted on individual quilt labels, some of the quilts were made, under direction, at the annual Quilt Week at Little Eden Camp near Onekama, Michigan. Quilters and their attendance at Quilt Camp are Fanni Birky (2 yrs.), Faye Litwiller (7 yrs.), rosemary Rupp (7 yrs.) and Phyllis Wulliman (9 yrs.).

Faye Litwiller was instrumental in beginning Quilt Camp: "After the Family Weeks at Little Eden are finished for the summer, there are still some beautiful fall days to enjoy in Michigan. To take advantage of this good weather, a five-day Quilt Week was begun in 2002, after observing a similar week at a different camp. participants bring their own machines and fabrics and all are guided through the steps of piecing the same top. At the end of the week, they take home their partially or totally finished quilt top. All ability levels have taken advantage of this time together. Carolyn Snyder has taught the class since its beginning. Cynthia Denlinger will be the instructor this year."

Rosemary Rupp: "I went to Quilt Week at Little Eden for the first time in 2013 at the invitation of Faye Litwiller and my sister-in-law Karen Rupp. I knew nothing about piecing a quilt, although I had been sewing since I was ten years old. I learned a lot that first year - I was caught pulling the rotary cutter towards me instead of away! And I continue to learn."
