Melatonin and Heart Failure: More Questions Than Answers

Abstract

Widespread media attention has followed a preliminary conference abstract reporting an association between melatonin use and incident heart failure. This review places that report in proper scientific context by examining its design, limitations, and consistency with existing clinical evidence. The analysis highlights the challenges of drawing firm conclusions from early observational data and highlights the importance of careful interpretation before translating such findings into clinical concern.
