Combating Language Barriers in Healthcare: Community Initiative to Support Arabic-Speaking Patients

Abstract

This article examines the impact of language barriers on healthcare for Arabic-speaking patients and introduces Project E.A.C.H. (Enhancing Arab Communication in Health), a nonprofit initiative that provides free Arabic medical terminology resources for healthcare professionals and trainees. Through online courses, workshops, and future cultural competency programming, the project aims to improve communication, expand access to language-learning resources, and support more culturally informed patient care.
