Abstract

After breaking her neck in a Steeplechase accident, Quinn has been deprived of everything that once made life worth living: movement, purpose, independence. Until recently, she couldn't even talk or communicate in any way. At first, she just wanted to die. But a young CNA, B'Neesha Brown refuses to give up on Quinn. She rolls Quinn out to the common room to meet the residents who teach her what it means to have courage in the face of overwhelming odds. But just as she decides life is worth living after all, her sister decides to move her to a new facility, away from all the people who made her want to live again. Quinn doesn't know what to do. She absolutely does not want to go, but her sister is her legal guardian.
