AcademFic publishes fiction written by academics in fields other than creative writing, those who write for pleasure and/or to explore ideas related to their fields through storytelling. Submissions are accepted year-round unless otherwise specified and new stories are published as they are approved as part of that year's volume.

AcademFic is an open access periodical dedicated to publishing fiction by academics outside of those areas such as creative writing in which it may be part of their academic and professional activity. Many academics write for pleasure. Some write to engage the public with realistic and well-informed historical fiction. Some write to use science fiction for philosophical thought experiments. AcademFic is a home for such writing and much more.
